CROGHAN- A funeral service for Beulah M. Roggie, 76, Swiss Rd., who died Wednesday morning at her home will be held Monday July 18, at 10:30 AM at the Croghan Mennonite Church with the ministry of the church officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

She was born in Naumburg July 30, 1934 to Alvin and Vera Moser Zehr. She attended Beaver River Central High School and graduated from the House of the Good Samaritan Nursing School. She was married to Merle Roggie August 10, 1960 at the Croghan Mennonite Church by the Rev. Lloyd Boshart. She was employed at Lewis County General Hospital for many years, worked at Lewis County Hospice and Public Health. She was a member of the Croghan Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday school, Summer Bible School, worked in the kitchen serving meals and was active in Dorcas Sisters Sewing Circle. She served on the board at Steepleview and volunteered at the Agape Shop .

She enjoyed travelling, knitting, reading, walking, gardening, spending time with her children grandchildren and great grandchildren and serving others.

She is survived by her husband of Croghan, two sons and their wives, Myron and Julie, Croghan; and Brent and Sherri, Norhteast PA. She is also survived by two daughters and their husbands, LuAnn and Myron Zehr and Valerie and Robert Keefer, all of Croghan.

She also has five brothers and four sisters in law, Paul and Mary, Lancaster, PA, Arthur, Potsdam, Alvin Jr and Irene, David and Mary and Lloyd and Jane, all of Croghan. She is also survived by eight sisters and five brothers in law, Pearl, Croghan, Lena, Lancaster, PA, LeEtta and Albert Owens and Maurice and Mary Graves, Castorland, Adeline Knetchel, Mannsville, Eunice and Beryl Gingerich, Lowville, Elizabeth and Roger Crassi, Williamsville, NY, Vera and Stanley Ferguson, Cincinnati, OH.

She is also survived by two uncles, Vernon Zehr, New Bremen and Michael Moser, Beaver Falls, four sisters in law, Eileen Zehr, Croghan, Belva Zehr, Martinsburg, Pauline Zehr, New Bremen, and Elma Ebersole, 12 grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is predeceased by a grandson Darrin, four brothers and a sister Richard, Kenneth, Joseph, Mark and Ellen Martin.
