John Sauer, a highly esteemed resident of this vicinity, passed away at ten o'clock, Tuesday morning at his home about two miles from this village. Mr. Sauer had been suffering from Bright's disease for about two years and recently contracted a severe cold which culminated in his death.
He was 38 years of age and a prosperous and industrious farmer, in which business he was engaged at the time of his demise. Besides his sorrowing widow, he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Sauer; two brothers, Frederick Sauer, of Eckenman, Mich., and Albert Sauer, of Garden River, Ontario; three sisters, Mrs. Lena Dempsey, of Parish; Mrs. Joseph Mattis, of Beaver Falls, and Mrs. Peter Thenes of this place. His funeral will be held at his late home, Thursday morning at ten o'clock.
He is buried in the back of the cemetery next to the fence, on the Erie Canal Rd Cemetary.

FARNEY,REBECCA daughter of John and Barbara Martin Nafziger, was born near Croghan, N.Y., May 6, 1868
Rebecca passed away, as the result of a stroke, at her home in Croghan, April 12, 1946; aged 77 y. 11 m. 6 d.
Her first husband, John Sauer, died in 1910.
In 1913 she was united in marriage to David Farney, who survives. She also leaves one adopted daughter (Mrs. Jonas Kennell), 7 grandchildren, one sister (Mrs. Jacob Stoltzfus), and other relatives.
For many years she was a member of the Conservative Amish Mennonite Church.
Funeral services were held at the home, in charge of Joseph Nafziger, and at the church, in charge of Elias Zehr and Allen Gingerich.
Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery.
