COLLINS, Ezra, age 83, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Woodlands Assisted Living where he had resided for three years. He was born September 26, 1930 in Clemons, Kentucky and lived in Middletown since he was nine years of age. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Ezra was employed as a welder at Armco Steel and retired in 1975 after 23 years of service. He was a member and former chaplain and managed the Needy Fund at the D.A.V. Chapter 131. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 218, the V.F.W. Miami Valley Post 3809, the Moose Lodge 501, the Orioles Nest 193 and the Eagles Aerie 528. Preceding him in death were his father, Estal Colllins; his mother, Lucinda (Spencer) Williams; his step-father, Arza Williams; his wife Louise Collins in 2006; his first wife, Barbara Collins; one son, Thomas Lee Collins; two brothers, Bill Williams and Estal Collins; and one sister, Dorma DeBord. He is survived by eight children, Charles Moon, Jim (Theresa) Collins, Vicki Roberts, Mike Moon, Greg (Evelyn) Collins, Carla (Kerry) Smith, Daryl Collins and Scott Collins; nine grandchildren, Amy Lawson, Todd Smith, Tracey Seahorn, Amy Hamel, Josh Collins, Robert Moon, Michelle Moon, Brandon Roberts, and Danelle Mitchell; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Dortha Goforth; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be Monday, August 18, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Jacob Niven, Minister, officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio, with Military Services by Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami Valley. Collins, M. Louise, 71, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Monday March 20, 2006 at 11:21 a.m. at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus where she had been a patient for 3 months. She was born July 20, 1934 in Middletown, Ohio and lived here all her life. She previously was the Bar Manager at the V.F.W. and Bar Tender at the D.A.V. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxillary, D.A.V. Auxillary, Women of the Moose and the Eagles Auxillary.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Hazel (Brewer) Lawson; first husband, Charles Moon in 1971; two brothers, Robert Lawson and Herbert Cassidy.

 

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ezra; 2 sons, Robert Charles Moon-Miamisburg, Michael (Vanessa) Moon, Tenn.; one daughter Carla Marie (Kerry) Smith-Middletown. Five step-sons, Tom Collins of Middletown, Jim (Teresa) Collins of Middletown, Greg (Evelyn) Collins of Maineville, Darrell and Scotty Collins both of Middletown; one step-daughter, Vicki (Gary)Wenzel of West Middletown, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Norma Hill of Stonington, Conn.,and Roxie Delude of Poke, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be Thursday March 23, 2006 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home. Services will be at the funeral home Friday Mar 24, 2006. Burial at Butler County Memorial Park.
