Burns O. Cox, 94, formerly of this area died at 9pm yesterday at Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, Ohio.

 

Born in Morgan County Ky., Mr. Cox had been living in recent years in the Ashland area. He was a retired farmer.

 

He is survived by his wife Anna; seven daughters, Mrs. Eldean Osborne of Middletown, Mrs. Irene Bowen, Mrs. Verda Smith and Mrs. Vivan Houndshell, all of Xenia; three sons, Leonard of Mansfield, and Bernie and Fordyce, both of Xenia; three sisters, Mrs. Jenny Lawson, Mrs. Julie Peyton, both of Middletown, and Carrie Peyton of Hamilton; 23 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nannie Cox, 72, who formerly lived at 39 N. Wright Ave., Dayton, died at 1:25am Sunday at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Dayton. She had resided for the past nine weeks with a daughter, Mrs. Virgina Trimble, at 203 Gideon Rd.

 

Surviving are her husband Burns Cox; five daughters, Mrs. Verda Smith and Mrs. Vivan Houndshell, both of Dayton, both of Dayton; Mrs. Irene Bowen of Xenia, Mrs. Trimble and Mrs. Eldean Osborne, both of Middletown; two sons, Fordyce of Middletown and Burns Cox Jr. of Waynesville; three stepsons, John Long of Trenton, Kenneth Long of Dangerfield, Tex., and Dr. L. C. Long of West Liberty, Ky.; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
