Note on Wife: Melinda ZEHR

Mrs. Melinda Zehr Alexander, 67, resident of this area for the past ,40 years, and wife of George W. Alexander, died Saturday evening at 8 after a diabetic illness of four years.

Funeral services were held from her home Tuesday afternoon at 2, with Rev. Lawrence Heatherington, Methodist pastor at Copenhagen, officiating. Burial was made in Riverside, cemetery, Copenhagen.

Mrs. Alexander leaves, besides her husband, five sons, Everett Alexander, Massena; Earl and Raymond Alexander, both of Massena; Earl and Raymond Alexander, both of Copenhagen; George Alexander, North Carolina, and Clarence Alexander, Barnes Corners, and four daughters, Mrs ,Carl (Dorothy) Fuller, Framingham, Mass., Mrs James (Marion) Cody, Copenhagen; Mrs Raymond (Marjorie) Parsons, Three Mile Bay, and Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Dorr, Chaumont. There are twelve grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Loren (Ella) Christian, Dexter, and three brothers, Bert Zehr, Waterville; George Zehr, Norwich, and Henry Zehr, Watertown, also survive.

Mrs Alexander, a daughter of Christian and Amelia Van Etten, was born at Indian River, Jan. 6, 1880. She was married to George W. Alexander Jan 15, 1907, by Rev. B. J. McLaughlin in a ceremony at Carthage. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander, who had lived all their imarned life in this locality, moved to Copenhagen only two months ago.
