Capt. Caleb Bushnell was a Townsman in 1709, 1711, and 1714 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. He was born 26 May 1679 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. He married his first cousin, Anne Leffingwell, daughter of Ensign Thomas Leffingwell and Mary Bushnell, on 24 July 1699 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. He was comissioned Captain in the train band in 1718. He died at age 45 on 12 February 1724/25 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. He was buried in the Old Burying Ground in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut.

Anne Leffingwell (daughter of Sergt. (Ensign) Thomas Leffingwell and Mary Bushnell) was born January 25, 1679/80 in Norwich, Connecticut, USA, and died Abt. 1762 in probably in Norwich, Connecticut, USA. She married Dr. ("Captain") Caleb Bushnell on January 9, 1698/99 in probably in Norwich, Connecticut, USA, son of Richard Bushnell II and Elizabeth Adgate.
Anne Leffingwell, born on January 25, 1680, at Norwich, Connecticut, was the third of 9 children and second of five daughters born to Sergt. (Ensign) Thomas Leffingwell and Mary Bushnell. Anne married Dr. Caleb Bushnell, her first cousin, on January 9, 1699. They had six children. Her husband died in 1724/5. Did Anne marry again. There is no record of her death or of her burial in Norwichtown, but there is a small, broken, unlettered stone next to his. See note below from "Old Houses". See Lewffingwell Record, p. 41 "Old Houses of Norwich", p. 429, gives her date of death as 1762.
