Note on Husband: Mark RAY

He was born about 1760 in either England or North Carolina (1880 Census) and was the son of George Ray. His mother's name may be Catherine Savage, but there is no proof of this. He served as a private in the North Carolina militia during the Revolutionary War. He is also listed as a soldier from both North Carolina and Georgia in the DAR records and he probably served from both states. He married Rebecca Long about 1810. He married second to Nancy Mason on 28 December 1843. He wrote a will on 24 October 1848, which was probated on 8 January 1849 in Monroe County [later Lamar County], Georgia.
