Frank P. Cloud, of Pemberton, died at his home at that place Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, after complications due to old age. He was 76.

Mr. Cloud was widely known in Raleigh county, where he resided over fifty years. He was born in Carroll county, Virginia. Coming to Raleigh county at an early age, traveled about the country selling notions and household utemsils. Fifty years ago he established a general store in Pemberton which he conducted for many years, retiring about six years ago. He was postmaster at Pemberton 20 years.

Mr. Cloud was married in 1882 to Alice Fink, a native of Raleigh county, who survives him. He also leaves two sons and five daughters. The sons are Fred Cloud, civil engineer of Nashville, Tenn. Pierce Cloud, of Pemberton. Also an adopted son, Mason Cloud lives at Madison. The surviving daughters are: Mrs. W. L. Maxey, and Mrs. Bert T. Samples, of Pemberton; Mrs. J. E. Thomas, Charleston; Mrs. J. T. Hite, Sullivan; and Miss Gustava Cloud, Charleston.
