Longtime Sterling area resident Fred William Gentz, 75, died Sat urday at a Sterling nursing home.
Recitation of rosary is 7 p.m. today at Tennant Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Blanco officiating. Burial is at Sun set Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is until 8p.m. today.
Mr. Gentz was born May 27, 1916, in Ellendale, N.D., to Henry and Rose (Schrum) Gentz.
The family moved from North Dakota to Cheyenne Wells, living there until he was 10 years old. The family then moved to the Sterling area.
On Jan. 24, 1940, he married Mary Ann Nab in Sidney, Neb.
He trucked until 1956, when he went into farming. In 1981 his health forced him to retire.
He was a member of St. Antho ny's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Freddie J. of luff and Alan of Ster ling; six daughters, Dorothy Ram sey and Betty Lou Jessee, both of Apache Junction, Ariz., Shirley Jef fries of Macedon, N.Y., Nancy Barkema of Alexander, Iowa, Lora McCormick of Mesa, Ariz., and Carrie Smith of Everett, Wash.; a brother, Adam of Pueblo
