Peter II is buried on the New Amish Cemetery, also known as the Evangelical Baptist south of the village of Croghan. His wife Anna (Nancy) and son Peter Jr, are also buried there.
He was enrolled along with 139 others for service in the Civil War, but only 38 were drawn. This was for the Town of New Bremen, and was in the year of 1863. They may have paid for someone else to go, as this was done at that time. It involved a certain some of money which was paid to another person to go in the service for them. On this list was also Joseph and Michael Virkler, and from the Town of Croghan and Andrew Zehr, but none of these young men were called.
